I went to this Tweens camp at Tapah (foothills of Cameron Highlands) recently...
Its actually for kids 12 and 13 years old, so I went there as a junior helper.
Meet our camp coordinator, Josephine!!!
This is where everyone slept and had activities.
This is the canteen. The food isn't either bad nor good, the taste is ok, but the feel... Sometimes it feels too wet and sticky, which it isn't suppose to be.
I didn't expect to be assigned as a group leader, just assistant group leader or anything, but I got the post of group leader and 1st aider...
The camp consists of 17 boys and 24 girls....
Like my group? I'm the guy in black on the right.
From top left : Bryan, Michael, Joseph, Me
From Bottom left : Yen Sien, Chui Peng, Adelynn, Voon Kee, Daphne.
Two of the members from my group, Yen Sien and Chui Peng accepted Christ in this camp.
Luke 15 : 7 "I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent."
At 1st I was not quite sure of how to be a group leader, so during the group discussion time I got Aunty Peh Lan, also the camp speaker to help me out.
She also helped me to take over every morning devotion, because i don't do QT at all. So now I've decided to learn to do QT and try to do occasionally.
We had many outdoor activities at the camp, including a night hike and stream trotting.
During the night hike a girl without known reason refused to walk, so one of the oldest junior helper, Linus Lee help to carry her for some time until she can walk again.
During the stream trotting, a boy, whom doesn't do well with these kind of things, went very slowly. I think he's scared, maybe.
During the second day of camp, our camp commander, Samuel fell sick. He had fever and even vomited.
Eventually on the third day of camp Me and Joanne with the help of Uncle Jack accompanied him to the clinic in town. He felt better after that day.
We had a party during the last night of camp. During the party, every group has to act out a drama. One group got the prize for the best drama, and every got an encore.
Last morning of camp, the camp officers played a "prank" on the camper : everyone's slippers were hidden somewhere. Everyone had to look for their slippers in their respective groups.
Actually they are just in that box under the table. ^^
Overall, the camp is nice, and I might return to this camp again next year (2009) if I'm available.
