Convocation Fair (not sure whether it's the right term)
1403 21st September 2011 Wednesday
A&W’s Corny Dog is expensive. RM 7.10, but it’s quite nice.
Convocation Day. Saw people wearing purple robes and purple hats. Began wondering how do they feel, and what will I feel on my day. I guess it would be reluctance to stop studying, I would like to study until the level of PhD. Hehe.
Saw an auntie parking her big car for about 10 minutes. I would offer some help, but that would be an insult to her parking skills.

Study Study Study
0106 14th September Wednesday
Went out to eat again tonight. Murtabak kambing, RM6, slightly larger portion compared to Pokok Cheri.
Lesson today was as usual. I didn’t know much. I went to buy the book at UniRia with the help of Winnie. Costs me RM 70 to buy a book.
Been studying for quite some time, plus playing with command prompt a little to know more about these kind of thing.

First Day of Class
1610 Monday 12th September 2011
First lecture was on programming. C++? Never heard of it. Latest Processor: Pentium don’t know what 7? Never heard of it. Study, study. Text books costs a lot, and is limited. Nearest Maybank atm is at Queensbay Mall. Approximately 45 minutes walk from here. Money money, send me money. Free time from now until tomorrow.

Went outside for the first time. Quite a few people there, and many shops including seven 11, photostat shops, restaurants, and a dobi. Overall not bad, good enough for me.

Last Day of Orientation
0100 Saturday 12th September 2011
Today is the last day of orientation. Washed my clothes in the afternoon, went for session, rained heavily, now it’s all wet. Great.
Class starts tomorrow at 1100. Before that I’m going to get my student card and if I have time, register for wifi. Or else I’ll register after class. Got the whole day to spare after class.
To get to stay in the hostels in my second year, I have to be active in co-curricular activities. And get some positions. To drive into campus I have to get super high positions. Well, those places are for those people. I’ll consider staying outside campus and drive a car there. Boohoo. Going to pack my bag and prepare some essential things such as map and the like. Good night.

Crazy People Does Crazy Thing

Crazy people do crazy things. This is what happened.
During orientation week, a group of volunteers/seniors called PPSL (Program Pemimpin Siswa Lestari) helped us in everything: shepherding us here and there, asking whether we eat or not, is anybody sick, helping us with PTPTN, JPA, ANYTHING.
Tonight, we had briefing as usual. They were calling out people who filled in the forms wrongly for the umpteenth time. As usual there were people talking. Then this guy shouted at us as if he is out of control, and then he asked all the seniors to go downstairs. Then another guy came and continued shouting, saying they do this for us, they get nothing, they are just volunteers, why we complain to the higher ups about them, they even traced those people’s phone numbers, room number, IC, etc etc. Well, it was so real everyone was scared. In the end it was just a surprise for those people who had their birthday that week. Crazy people doing crazy stuff.
For the rest of my day, I registered for my course this morning, took around 2 hours. Then rest time until 1430, where we had briefing on the campus library. We can even borrow books from other universities. And we were told our student card can allow us to visit any library in Malaysian government’s universities. The best part about our library is that they have “Wireless Printing”. We can top up our student card with some money, register at a counter, and when we need to print something, all we need to do is upload our documents into some server anywhere within the campus. Then we can scan our student card at the printer or somewhere and choose the file to be printed. Cool huh?
Tomorrow is the last day of orientation, will be having long break from around 1230 to 1900.

Day Three
0159 Saturday 10th September 2011
Had a forum on “Integrity” tonight. I didn’t listen, only played worms on hand phone and slept a little. In the morning we had a session on something about our courses. Then we went to our respective schools after lunch. The lecturers were nice, and we can ask questions during tutorials and classes, unlike what some people told me that “you have to study yourself, the lecturer won’t care about you”. In fact, they have to respond to our questions and problems, even if we send them emails. But we have to respect their office hours and appointments and the like. That’s it for today, quite an uneventful one. Though I got a little excited to start studying right away.
